Hi! I’m Elsie, the self-taught baker behind Liontart.
I grew up in a Cuban home in Miami with a family who taught me everything they knew about cooking and passed on their love for backyard gatherings that kept the music, drinks and good food flowing.
My interest in baking came later, in college. Disenchanted with the overly sweet and overworked desserts I’d come across, I taught myself to make the desserts I craved—simple, fresh and flavorful.
As someone who used a wine bottle as a rolling pin until just recently, I’m a firm believer that you don’t need much to make great food, and I promise to share plenty of recipes that don’t require fancy equipment.
